Brothers Chase and Chad Valencia own and operate Lasa in LA's Chinatown. The restaurant is an ode to their Filipino heritage. When the pandemic hit, they were forced to overhaul their business model, all while feeding frontline workers.
ON THE LINE is a four-part documentary shorts series chronicling four Los Angeles restaurants amidst the COVID-19 crisis, produced by Resy and award-winning new media studio Crimes of Curiosity. The series follows the owners and employees of Kensho in Hollywood, Alta Adams in West Adams, Kismet in Los Feliz, and Lasa in Chinatown as they grapple with how to keep their businesses afloat, staff employed, communities fed, and dreams alive during the pandemic, which continues to have a crushing impact on the hospitality industry.
